Abstract

The article deals with the specific character of the reception of S. Grakhovsky's first collection of poems "Birthday" (1956) in the context of time, The author analyses thematic and genre-stylistic variety of the poet's lyrics. It was his first collection of poems that contained tendencies which later predetermined S. Grakhovsky's creative peculiarities such as the ability to penetrate deeply into human psychology to notice all the details of the surrounding world. The book "Birthday" is filled with an insistent desire to work out his own conception of time, his own notion of the world, of a man in it, to find his own theme.
