Abstract

The article deals with the vocabulary, denoting colours, in such a folklore genre as spell texts, except the names of the colours themselves, and the nouns, which demonstrate the presence of material associations. The author analyzes the features of word usage of the colour-adjectives silver and gold in the functional-semantic aspect. The author draws attention to the fact that such colour names (periphery of the lexical-semantic field) are connected with words from the central zone of the colour field with synonymic relations. These coloratives perform a nominative and an informative function in the texts, while having rather limited word combinability and acquiring an additional symbolic meaning. Such features demonstrate certain cultural traditions, create a positive or negative emotional background.
