Abstract: The article deals with methods of teaching mathematics and propaedeutics in particular. The definitions of this notion have been formulated more precisely on the basis of integrative approach. Psychological foundation of the expediency of using propaedeutics in the sphere of mats teaching has been given. Functions, aims, kinds and forms of propaedeutics have been considered, theoretical conclusion being illustrated with practical examples.
