| Abstract: | The article is dedicated to the problem of the slang-word meaning. Animal names functioning in the contemporary slang of the English language are being analysed in terms of their formal and semantic motivation. Semantically, the motivated zoomorphemes are described as a result of the shift of the semantic components in the meaning. |
