| Abstract: | Segmentation is considered in the aspect of actual division. It is proved that this is a linguistic universal that has functional and communicative specificity, which is manifested in dissected units of all language levels (modules). Segmented constructions (SC) act as markers of the modern linguocultural paradigm; they are used in different registers of many languages, updating and emphasizing numerous rhematic meanings in the microtexts they create. |
