| Abstract: | The article suggests some ways of improving students’ mental activity in the process of mastering English. The significance of higher order thinking skills in personality formation is substantiated. A set of communicative exercises aimed at the development of students’ critical thinking skills and improving their awareness in the process of mastering a foreign language is given. |
