Abstract

The article examines the process of formation and development of the underground movement in the city of Mogilev from the moment of its occupation by Nazi troops. The organization of underground groups in the city faced great difficulties since already at the end of July 1941, Hitler’s troops were near Mogilev, and the Red Army was retreating deep into the USSR. In such difficult conditions, the city’s party leadership began to organize the population to fight in the occupied territory. Throughout the entire period of occupation, underground groups operated in the city, which from mid-1942 operated under the leadership of the “Committee for Assistance to the Red Army”.
