| Abstract: | The Sozh culture was distinguished by V.F. Kopytin in 1970’s as a result of many years’ study of the Mesolithic monuments in the Upper Dnieper region. The problems of the history of this study as well as the historiography of this culture have been examined in the article. On the basis of the investigation of various literary and archeological sources the author distinguishes the following problems: the genesis, chronology and interpretation of the materials obtained. |
