| Abstract: | The article examines the motives that guide applicants when choosing Slavic studies as their main specialty at the Faculty of Philology of BSU. The results of a phased survey among students studying modern Bulgarian, Polish, Serbian, Slovak, Ukrainian and Czech languages are presented. The dynamics of preferences when choosing a major, as well as the idea of professional prospects that are formed among students studying Slavic languages, to a certain extent are a reflection of the position of Slavic languages in the Belarusian sociocultural space. |
