| Abstract: | The influence of the father on a child being brought up is as great as that of the mother. However, nowadays in many families one can observe fathers losing their authority, dismissing themselves from child-rearing. These vexed problems of the modem family are considered in the article “The Role of the Father in Bringing UP a Child". The 'paternal conference’ appears to be an effective way for schools to improve parents’ pedagogical competence and to solve the acute problems of modem families. The article gives an account of such a conference. |
